You can learn about the basics of coding at two workshops next month at the Sullivan Center at ʻIolani school. The first will run through basics in iOS mobile app development and javascript for teachers who want to level up on their skills before designing coding curriculum for their own students. The second is designed middle school aged students to get an introduction on the same topics. Those of you who’ve been following Purple Maiʻa’s development from our startup days will notice that this is a different tack for us. We teach after-school classes for middle school students, but we wanted to start off the DOE school year with a bang, reaching out to more communities and populations of underserved kids. We want our students to learn by doing, and to understand how to teach that, we have to continue to learning by doing ourselves. So let’s do it! Hope to see you there 🙂
