Purple Maiʻa Ohana Learning Day

ʻOHANA LEARNING DAY

As the 2016-2017 school year comes to a close, all of our students at 9 locations have made tremendous progress. Whether they have learned how to build websites, games, design animations, or master javascript, we are really proud of them!

We want to celebrate the work that students have done by giving them a chance to show off to their families, and we also want to invite the larger community in to get a taste of what this coding thing is all about–how fun it can be, and also how intellectually challenging. Coding is way more than messing around on the computer!

To bodychamp.net get a taste of what our students learn and what more there is to learn through computer science, please consider attending our ʻOhana Learning Day, which takes place May 13 from 9am to 5pm at the NFL YET Nanakuli Boys and Girls Club

This event is open to all ages and will give the whole family a chance to attend fun workshops in VR (virtual reality!), Scratch, Stencyl, and other CS topics. We are really excited to not only have Purple Maiʻa Instructors Bill and Marion running workshops, but also guest teachers Jeff from PALS and Anna from Creative Coding 4 Kids.

Please RSVP at https://pmohanaday.eventbrite.com to let us know how many family members plan to attend. This will help us get a headcount for lunch.

Thanks for a great year, and we hope to see you on May 13!
