The fun part of CS
Based in Hālau ʻĪnana, this program uses technology education to foster student engagement, expression, and leadership. Students explore their world through imaginative digital and tactile/embodied arts and math content and make connections with guest experts from the community.
- All in person classes are located at Hālau ʻĪnana ma Mōʻiliʻili (4223 S Beretania St)
- All Summer classes are invited to in person huakaʻi occurring in the first two weeks of term.
- Tech equipment available for those in need.

Fundamentals of Unity
July 5 – 26
Tuesdays, 5-6pm
Introduction to Unity: a real-time development platform used for game development, augmented and virtual reality, cinematics, and much more! For these summer workshops, we aim to focus on learning the fundamentals of Unity and game development.
Preferred age range: ʻopio (16+ years of age)5
Haku JS
Wednesdays and Fridays, 9am-1pm
Explore the past and present of humu peʻa (Hawaiian sailmaking). Haumana will craft cloth sails and test them in the ocean on miniature sailing canoes. Ideal for 5th grade+. Course is at Hālau ʻĪnana with additional huakaʻi.
Aloha ʻĀina Scratch
Mondays 3:30-5pm
Haumāna will learn more about ʻike kupuna with large emphasis on restoration and create a PSA through Scratch animation or games using block coding. Ideal for ʻōpio 8th grade+. Classes are online with additional in person huakaʻi.
Minecraft
July 5 – 26
Tuesdays 4-5pm
Develop visual aids to show case ʻike kupuna. Haumāna are expected to partake in a community project: loko iʻa, mala, loʻi, etc. Open to all keiki with half reserved for wāhine. Course will be online with additional huakaʻi earlier in the day.

Minecraft Wāhine
July 7 – 28
Thursdays 4-5pm
Support wahine to get into the world of computer science and learn about coding/gaming. Reserved for wāhine of all ages and gamer abilities. Course will be online with additional huakaʻi earlier in the day.
