Purple Maiʻa

Work with us

Social Media Marketing Manager

Description

The marketing team at Purple Maiʻa is growing! As an organization, we run over 5 programs that serve ʻohana from ʻōpio to kūpuna in areas of technology education, design + entrepreneurship and workforce development. To help spread awareness of what we do, we run several channels on various social media platforms.

Do you dig our mission? How might our work inspire others?

This is an opportunity to create and support a series of digital campaigns that help to tell our story. Youʻll manage, produce content and analyze how we perform and practice social media.

Responsibilities

  • Create campaigns and content for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn
  • Tracking metrics for campaigns and overall growth
  • Work with the marketing team and directors to support the needs of each program
  • Explore new social media platforms

Requirements and Skills

You donʻt have to be an expert! This person is excited about social media platforms and is motivated to explore informative and fun ways of using the technology to support our mission. Basic design capabilities are needed (Photoshop, Canva).

You have attention to detail and can thrive in a fast paced environment. Although weʻve been around for seven years and have more than two dozen employees, we still run like a startup.

You can manage your time well and work collaboratively. There will be several campaigns running simultaneously but we all work together to achieve our shared objectives.

You are open to learning about Hawaiian culture. As a Hawaiian organization, we believe in the values of our place, culture, and communities. We don’t expect our employees to speak ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi, we don’t require employees to have studied Hawaiian Studies, but we do hope that all employees practice kuleana (responsibility), haʻahaʻa (humility), mālama (care), and aloha (love).

Working Conditions

Purple Maiʻa Foundation is a remote friendly employer, but we can accommodate in-office work as well. We are based out of Hālau ʻĪnana, a 5,000 sq. ft. space optimized for collaboration, and educational events in Mōʻiliʻili, Oʻahu.

Staff are expected to attend cultural and ʻāina restoration workdays and team building events on roughly a quarterly basis.

For employees who do not live on Oʻahu, some travel is expected.

Compensation

Position is part time. Pay commensurate with experience.
